The Harbour Works is a unique venue, events space and workspace overlooking Torquay Harbour. Combining style, space and a community ethos, it’s becoming a go-to destination for hosting team and client meetings, launch events, celebrations and networking events.
BoostTorbay started life in 2012 as a concept for a loyalty card scheme in Torbay. The concept of #BoostTorbay began and a twitter hashtag and has a growing following of over 8,000 South West based businesses. BoostTorbay provides a central platform that tourists, residents and businesses within Torbay can all utilise to interact with their favourite shops, services and more.
The Challenge
Over the next 12 months, BoostTorbay is moving the hashtag forward and developing a new website that will allow customers to interact with businesses. BoostTorbay.com is being launched at the end of August with its two main products, Pages and Events.
As part of its 5th birthday celebrations, BoostTorbay needed to find a venue where they could discuss the new website features and developments and gain valuable feedback from local influencers and businesses to ensure the product met their needs.
The Solution
BoostTorbay founder, Robert Haylor, said: “When it came to choosing a venue I wanted to find a place that was central to those attending. It needed to have access to WiFi and more importantly it needed to have a laid-back atmosphere with a professional feel.
“The Harbour Works ticked these boxes and with an exceedingly helpful and informative team they made the whole process easy.”
Robert and his team used the board room and the main room in the Harbour Works to deliver their website presentations and hold discussions with the local businesses.
The Results
Robert continued: “We wanted to get as many people as possible into one location to show them the concept of the website and how it would benefit them, and the local area of Torbay. According to the feedback from our survey we managed to achieve this goal and we now have more people interacting with BoostTorbay and engaging with the next steps of the website developments.
“Without the help of Deborah and the team at The Harbour Works I don’t think we could have pulled off such a fantastic event. We are looking forward to using the venue again for the launch of the website in September.”
